Camp 1 is done! The week really seemed to fly by, with a lot of activities from openings to art to sports to music to closings each day...and don't forget English language learning. It was a great week! Our curriculum was based on the story of David in the Old Testament, and we had the opportunity to share the story of the Son of David, Jesus. Some of the students (50 5th and 6th graders) had heard of Jesus, and are part of Alpha and Omega Church here in Peshkopi, under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Ermal and Sarah Lushi. However, there were students here this week who knew nothing about who Jesus is and what he has done. So, Gospel seeds were planted, and God will cause the growth.
The camp ended with a bang, with five skits based on the David and Goliath story that were filled with drama! Use your imagination - robes, swords, slings and stones, kings, and much more. With some robust singing mixed in it was lot's of fun.
The continuing ministry of Pastor Ermal and Sarah, along with American missionaries, Dan and Dawn Hall, is vital and needs our prayer support. Many students take part in reunions throughout the year, and are also part of the ministry of Alpha and Omega Church, so our team's involvement is by no means the beginning or the end. We are a catalyst in support of what God is already doing here in the town of Peshkopi in the mountains of northeastern Albania, and it's our prayer that more of the students and their families will come to know Jesus and get involved in this precious ministry.
Tomorrow, our team, along with several of our Albanian translators, plans to take an excursion to Orhid, in western Macedonia, about an hour and a half drive away. It's another great opportunity to continue to build relationships and see more of this amazing world! Thanks, again, to our senders for your support.
